Autumn – Recap

🔸🔶🔸 Hello dear people! – welcome to a new edition of „What’s UP?“ – the newsletter of the Stadtteilgewerkschaft Lobeda Solidarisch 🔸🔶🔸
We’re looking back on a beautiful shared “Kitchen for Everyone” in September! 🥘🫃🏼 Alongside a tasty lentil dish by Ji, there were plenty of other activities! Laura shared news from the district council Lobeda, and there was a report on our protest around the communal accommodation on Matthias-Domaschk-Strasse! For everyone who wanted to get creative, there was bouquet-binding and making chestnut garlands or little animals that now adorn Emil’s corner. If you’d like to see them, just come by! 🍂🌰🍁
Also, we held a very exciting educational session in our activist circle on the topic “Work pays off – but for whom?” In it we discovered that the work we do often doesn’t benefit us — but rather mostly our bosses… 📚
What’s coming next? 📆
Right now a lot of our time is going into the protest around the situation at Matthias-Domaschk-Strasse. ✊ To connect with more people from the communal accommodation, we will hold a few “door-to-door conversations” in the near future. We will invite all the residents to a small gathering in Emil’s corner, where there will also be delicious cooking.
🗣 🔎 We are currently looking for people who speak Ukrainian or Russian (the residents often speak both) and German or English, so we can communicate well during this or at our meetings. If you speak these languages and would like to support us or know someone who does, please get in touch on our mobile number!
And one more little event note! Our good friend Jens-Peter will open his exhibition on 07.11 at 18:00 titled “Together instead of Alone” in Emil’s corner. If you are curious, drop by! 🎨🖌
Would you also like to participate in our protests against injustice in the neighbourhood or plan events, educational sessions, or counselling? Then come to the activists’ meeting! 💬👥 These take place every 2 weeks on Tuesday from 16:45 to 19:00! They’re currently very well attended and together we can really get things moving! We’re looking forward to seeing you! If you’re unsure about joining a large new group on your own, feel free to contact us — we’ll meet first in a smaller setting!
And of course we continue with our counselling on the topics of asylum & residence law, tenancy law and social law. As always, it takes place Thursdays from 16-19 and Fridays from 9-11 in Emil’s corner! 🤝
